Lesson Five - Creating your first document (quote)

Powered Now is designed to make paperwork quick and easy. In this video I will demonstrate how you can create a document, in this case a quote, from scratch really quickly. However while the process of creating and sending a document is quick, its also smart allowing you to reuse and recreate items with very little effort, however we will discuss this on a later video.

Lets start by creating a quote, to do this press the New Quote button on the home screen.

You then choose a customer, if the customer you are creating a document for isn't listed, just press the new customer button. In my example I will create a quote for John.

Once you have selected your customer Powered Now then takes you to the Manage Priced Items screen. A priced item is our terminology for an item on a quote, jobsheet or invoice. TO create one simply add the item description, price and quantity. If you regularly type the same priced items Powered Now even remembers them so you can simply select from a drop down. To add your priced item press 'Save Item'
You can add as many priced items to your document as you like. In my example I have added two.

There are two views you can add and edit priced items in, simple and advanced. Advanced mode allows you to see all of the detail on a single screen. In simple mode to edit a priced item simply hit the green edit button next to the priced item.

You can also add a title to the priced items, although this is not mandatory.
The totals tab gives you the full pricing break down, you can also add any discounts or markups here as well.

Once you have finished creating your priced items press the Next button.

Powered Now will give you a document preview, showing you what you are going to send to the customer. If you want to make changes simply hit the back button, otherwise press the green confirm button.

And that’s it, you've created a quote. From here you can either send it to the customer, print it, or if you want to go and edit the document further you can press the Advanced Edit button.
